Italbioforma is registered as provider for educational residential events next to ministerial Commission for continuous Education in Medicine (ECM) and it is under procedure to obtain credit as ECM provider in its Region, that is Regione Lombardia.

The first initiative of Italbioforma was the “QConLine”, a program dedicated to the distance education and realised in different languages: from 2003 to the end of 2005, QConLine allowed to the numerous lab of analysis operators, theirs constant and professional refresher, with an immediate evaluation of theirs diagnostic performances, in different sectors of Lab Medicine.

The QConLine has been suspended at the end of the past year, both in Italy and abroad, even if it obtained success: Italbioforma thought it was necessary to take a step forward by an enlarging of its own horizons and by a renovation of its own distance education programs. So it acquired a new platform, in relation to AICC standard, for the on-line education and it invested the last months to determine the new educational programs. Thanks to important partnerships, like that with Ordine Nazionale dei Biologi (credited yet like provider in Regione Lombardia and soon also in Regione Liguria), Italbioforma, in very few time, will be able to supply, not only the distance education ECM courses, but also the on-line courses of others provider.

In the wait that the e-learning activity becomes more and more concrete, Italbioforma has been very important also to promote and to realise the residential educational events, always inserted into ECM ministerial project: from june 2003 to today, Italbioforma organized about forty courses.

To complete the educational activity proposed, all the cases of QConLine published from 2002 to the end of 2005 are actually presented into the section database of the site.

As well as the education, Italbioforma pursues also the objective of information and refresher into health and medicine field. For this reason, from about one year, the section dedicated to SOPs relative to the national standard of specimens of clinical origin, has been actived. This publication is due to the availability and collaboration with Health Protection Agency.

As well as the SOPs, Italbioforma dedicated a section of its site to the News relative to Lab Medicine and edited with the important collaboration of the Prof. Ferruccio Mandler, who montly selects and put at disposal of his colleagues, the most important and useful news.

Moreover, for the importance and the preciousness that Italbioforma assigned to the scientific information, both the News section that the SOPs section presented into the site, have been made freely accessible to people who would like to consult them.
